Boy Hero's sort of

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Hello
Once again Paul got some very odd things for Valentines.
He was very chuffed with his little mascot bandit chef
chef
and got a good laugh out of his “Farty Boy Hero” as well
fartI liked Farty so much I made a print of him too, I think it is the awkward, embarrassed post fart stance that makes him lovable even if he is smelly

My gift is still waiting to come into stock, its from the brand Mother, I hope it does come back in, I fell in love with the back of this dress, it seemed rather Jane Austen to me

Hope you all had fine Valentines Days!

Love Muchacha

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

Thought I would share one of my favourite Japanese brands Muchacha
acha-200903-01
I think they may have started out as a brand for kids clothes, but now, wonderfully, they do kiddy size and adult!  I have about three of their dresses now and a wonderful big doll as well.

Girl Hero's

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

Hello
Just finished off this bunch of girl Hero’s as a slightly late entry to the Japanese Luvable Huggable for this year
group-copy
There is Grumpy Girl Hero

Sensible Girl Hero

and Reading Girl Hero, who might be a little sister or something

I made little tags for them as well in case the Japanese people were wondering what they were all about

I hope they find nice new homes in Japan, and I think I may have to make a few more.  I tried a new way of attaching the neck so they are nice and non-floppy and I think an “Eating Girl Hero” and a “Gothic Girl Hero” are on the cards as well.  I even think I may do a little boy, “Windy/Farty Boy Hero”?

D-Bros

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

Hi
Thought I would share some of my favourite D-Bros products, they seem to be spreading out a bit from Japan, but as usual a quick rakuten search will help you to find them as well.  The products are always so clever and beautiful, I have these butterflies on my wall.

I have this one too, but Ive never quite known what I want to do with it, I seem to be keeping it for “something special”
drft-cj-c-main2Their cards are gorgeous, its a sort of paper doll and the card acts as the scenery

dbros08-i21Im not really sure what these are, but they look like biscuits and that is enough for me

Remember Dinosaur Designs?

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

Hello
I was going to post something else entirely this morning, but came across Dinosaur Designs as I was browsing about and got a very nice surprise.  Its been ages since I last visited.  I own a lovely deep red chunky rose ring and a butterfly in green, but they went a bit geometric for my tastes and Id basically forgotten about them, but look at some of these lovelies…..

for more mushroom fun you can go to their fungiverse and make and name your own mushroom.  There used to be a store near me, hope it is still there, Id love a little mushroom of my own.

Paper Anniversary

Saturday, December 5th, 2009

Hello
A little while back Paul and I had our first Wedding Anniversary.  We have two of them, the “when we met” one, which is eighteen years now and the Wedding, which was our first, traditionally the gifts should be of paper.
I knew exactly what I wanted to give Paul and I was so very, very lucky as to be able to get it.  I asked Amy Earles “Wool and Water” if she would consider doing paper dolls of Paul and me in our wedding outfits and she agreed!  I knew it would be beautiful, but it was so much more beautiful than I expected.

The detail is amazing and the cute little personal additions like Paul’s spotty socks and my doll carrying a little “Christina the Bride” Blythe doll were lovely.  I was blown away by them, wanting to touch but afraid to in case I damaged their miniature perfection.  I can’t say thank you enough Amy, they are so very special to both of us.
framed
I have been keeping this vintage black wooden frame with carved hearts for probably a good ten years now, waiting for something just right for it and now it has its perfect match.
I made a present as well, at last getting around to putting our Wedding pictures into an album:
frontcover
topper
socks
celebrating
registry
bonbonniere
There are photos of us in there……………but I hate showing pictures of me, we have all our cards and even the cork from the Champagne bottle as well.  I really like this two Anniversary thing, more presents, more lovely dinners.

Lindt Christmas

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

Hello
It seems Lindt have their finger on the cute pulse when it comes to producing their Christmas chocolate tin range.  Last year it was Russian Dolls
babushka
and this year at the height of all things Alpine (I so want a cuckoo clock), they have brought out their “Children of the World” tins.
tins
Lederhosen!  How adorable, look at those little deers on the boys outfit, Id wear that pretty much……………..anyway, I bought them for practical reasons, the perfect pencil/paintbrush holders.  There was a lot more of those chocolate reindeer by the way, loads actually………..but I scoffed them in about two days, couldnt even hold off till the pictures were taken.  I ate those two remaining ones right after the pictures were done as well.
withpencils
Still, this had nothing to do with chocolate and everything to do with organising my messy work area.
